Compassionate, loving warrior is probably the best way to describe myself. I care deeply about others and have had ups and downs in my own life where I had to put in the work to be the person I am today. Read more about me
I know firsthand how a lack of sleep can take a serious toll on both your body and mind. For three years, I struggled with horrible sleep, and it affected every part of my life—my work, my relationships, and my overall well-being. I remember one particularly rough day when I had to call my mom and ask her to stay on the phone with me during my 12-minute drive home. I was so exhausted that I genuinely worried I might fall asleep at the wheel.
During those years, I was underweight for my body type, fasting daily, and drinking heavily on the weekends. I pushed myself through high-stress workdays and intense workouts, never giving my body the rest it desperately needed. On the outside, I might have looked fit, but on the inside, I felt horrible—exhausted, anxious, and disconnected from myself. Every night was a battle of tossing and turning, and I never truly felt at peace.
Then one day, I hit my breaking point. I looked at myself and said, “I AM DONE WITH THIS.”
I stopped fasting and started eating when I was hungry. I swapped alcohol-filled weekends for exercise dates with friends—working out together and then treating ourselves to a delicious meal. Instead of chasing a buzz, I was chasing endorphins and fueling my body with the nutrients it needed. And it was life-changing.
Within 30 days, my body started to feel safe again. My sleep improved, my anxiety faded, and I began to thrive. I gained 20 pounds—weight my body desperately needed—and with that, I gained my life back. My business started to grow, my relationships deepened, and most importantly, I reconnected with myself.
I finally understood that starving my body and pushing it to extremes wasn’t the key to happiness—it was the thing holding me back. On my blog “The Power of Healthy Lifestyle: A Mind Body Approach,” I talk about the importance of nutrition and movement. I recommend reading this as it relates to this blog.
